Black and white provides a lot of contrast and drama to just about any image and is one of this photographer's favorite techniques. This image in particular was chosen to highlight this technique for its stark contrast of the dark wood windows and sign to the light colored wall. Additionally, the light shadowing effect on the far right gives the viewer a strong sense of the light's direction. Finally, the black and white really highlights the texture in the wall.
